I am involved with the Texas State CIM program. My responsibilities are marketing and recruitment
How did you become involved with this school and the CIM program?
I became involved with the school when I was looking for new career opportunities and I came across the program and the job posting.
What interesting projects have your students been involved with during this last school year?
I would say the bowling ball competition, where students constructed a bowling ball out of concrete.
Why should incoming students consider CIM as a major course of study?
CIM offers opportunities you will not find anywhere else. Students can travel, complete internships and benefit from a 100 percent job placement rate in a career that will always be in demand.
Can you describe the different career paths that graduates of the CIM program can take?
CIM graduates have a wide range of options. Many go on to become project managers, estimators, sales professionals, or technical specialists, but the degree opens doors to countless roles across the concrete and construction industry.
What is unique about the graduates of the CIM program?
Our graduates are in such high demand that most have multiple job offers before they even cross the graduation stage.
What are your thoughts about the industry and academic partnership between CIM and its industry partners?
It is incredible to see how supportive the industry is. At our most recent career fair, more than 100 companies came to campus, many offering paid internships on the spot. That level of involvement shows the value they place on CIM students.
What are your thoughts about the partnership between CIM and its Patrons?
The partnership is excellent. Some students have found mentors who also happen to be Patrons. With decades of experience in the industry, these Patrons provide insights and advice that are invaluable to our students’ growth.
Why should companies in the concrete industry get involved in the CIM program?
Because it gives them direct access to the next generation of industry leaders and innovators.
How does the CIM program benefit the concrete industry?
The program prepares students with both technical knowledge and practical training, so when they enter the workforce, they are ready to contribute immediately.
What is your vision for the CIM program?
To see CIM recognized worldwide as a premier program known for producing highly successful graduates and shaping the future of the concrete industry.
