Karl Watson

Karl Watson is a seasoned leader with more than 35 years of experience in the construction materials industry. Since stepping into the role of CEO at Baker Construction Enterprises in June 2023, he has leveraged his deep expertise and proven leadership to drive growth and innovation within the company. Before he was appointed CEO, Watson served on the company’s board of directors for two years, contributing strategic guidance and industry insights. 

Throughout his career, Watson has held senior executive positions with some of the most prominent names in the construction materials sector, including Forterra, Inc., Summit Materials, Inc., Martin Marietta, Inc., CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V., and Rinker Group Ltd. His leadership and vision have positioned these organizations for lasting success and solidified his reputation as a key figure in the industry. 

Beyond his corporate roles, Watson is deeply committed to advancing the concrete industry. He currently serves as Chairman of the Concrete Industry Management National Steering Committee. He has previously chaired the National Ready Mix Concrete Association and the Florida Concrete and Products Association while also serving as Vice Chairman of the Portland Cement Association. His extensive involvement in the industry extends to executive committee roles with the National Stone, Sand, and Gravel Association; Cement, Concrete & Aggregates Australia; and the American Concrete Pipe Association.
