Heather Brown is the Vice President of Quality Control/Quality Assurance at Irving Materials, Inc., where she leverages her extensive expertise to advance quality processes for concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and soil stabilization. In this leadership role, she is responsible for integrating current technologies and innovative mix designs to deliver durable, sustainable infrastructure solutions. Her dedication to upholding rigorous industry standards and supporting continuous improvement has positioned Irving Materials, Inc. at the forefront of quality and reliability in the industry.

Before joining Irving Materials, Inc., Dr. Brown spent two decades at Middle Tennessee State University, where she served as Professor and Director of the School of Concrete and Construction Management. During her tenure, she led the nationally recognized Concrete Industry Management (CIM) program, fostering meaningful connections between students and industry leaders. Her efforts in education and research contributed to the program’s reputation for excellence and its strong record of preparing graduates for successful careers.

Dr. Brown’s contributions have been widely recognized across the concrete community. She was honored as one of the 2017 Most Influential People in Concrete Construction magazine and was inducted into the Tennessee Concrete Hall of Fame in 2019. An ACI Fellow and recipient of several distinguished industry awards, Dr. Brown continues to shape the field as the Education Chair for the CIM National Steering Committee, where she guides strategic initiatives and promotes best practices nationwide. Her commitment to mentorship, innovation, and quality has made her a driving force in the advancement of the concrete industry.
